Privacy Policy

Last updated: 26 August 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how days2go collects, uses, shares and protects your information, including data obtained through Google APIs. It applies both to the days2go mobile application for iOS and Android and to this website at days2go.app. By using days2go, you agree to the practices described here.

1. Who We Are

days2go is a personal productivity and countdown application for iOS and Android, operated by the days2go business, based in Australia. days2go helps you visualise the time remaining until the events that matter to you, including events imported from your Google Calendar and, optionally, your Google Tasks.

This policy applies to the days2go app and to the days2go website. If you have any questions, you can reach us at hello@days2go.app.

2. Information We Collect

We collect only what we need to provide the service. Depending on how you use days2go, this may include:

  • Countdown and event data you create — such as event titles, dates, times, colours, categories and notes. Countdowns you create manually are stored locally on your device by default and are only stored on our servers if you sign in and use features that require it.
  • Account information — when you sign in with Google, we receive basic profile information you approve (your name, email address and profile picture) to create and secure your account.
  • Google Calendar data — when you connect Google Calendar, we access your calendar list and calendar events on a read-only basis to display upcoming events and generate countdowns (see Section 3).
  • Google Tasks data — only if you explicitly enable the optional Google Tasks integration, we access your tasks on a read-only basis to display them (see Section 3).
  • Device and diagnostic information — basic technical data (such as app version, device type and error logs) necessary to keep the service reliable and secure.
  • Website analytics and cookies — collected on the website only, and handled separately from Google Calendar and Google Tasks data (see Section 10).

3. Google User Data — What We Access

When you authorize days2go to access your Google account, we request only the scopes needed for the features you use. All Google Calendar and Google Tasks access is strictly read-only.

Core Google authorization (requested at sign-in):

  • openid, email, profile — to authenticate you and identify your account.
  • https://www.googleapis.com/auth/calendar.calendarlist.readonly — used to identify the calendars available to you so you can choose which to display.
  • https://www.googleapis.com/auth/calendar.events.readonly — used to read your calendar events so days2go can display upcoming events and generate countdowns and related productivity features.

Optional incremental Google Tasks authorization (requested only if you enable the Tasks integration):

  • https://www.googleapis.com/auth/tasks.readonly — requested only when you explicitly enable the optional Google Tasks integration, and used to retrieve and display your tasks within days2go.

Because this access is read-only:

  • days2go does not create, edit or delete Google Calendar events.
  • days2go does not create, edit or delete Google Tasks.
  • days2go does not request the broad calendar.readonly scope, and does not use full read/write calendar access.

4. Sharing, Transfer and Disclosure of Google User Data

We do not share, transfer or disclose your Google user data to third parties except to the limited service providers that we rely on to operate days2go. Specifically, Google user data may be processed by:

  • Emergent — our hosting and infrastructure provider, which runs the days2go backend that receives and processes Google Calendar and Tasks data to deliver the app's features.
  • MongoDB — our database infrastructure provider, used to store the data necessary to operate your account and integrations.

These providers process Google user data solely on our behalf and only as necessary to operate, maintain, secure and provide the days2go service. They are not permitted to use your Google user data for their own unrelated purposes.

In addition, we explicitly confirm that:

  • days2go does not sell Google user data.
  • days2go does not rent Google user data.
  • days2go does not provide Google user data to data brokers or information resellers.
  • days2go does not provide Google user data to advertisers for advertising or personalised advertising.
  • days2go does not disclose Google user data to any third party for purposes unrelated to providing and improving the user-facing features of days2go.

We may also disclose data if required to do so by law, or where necessary to protect the rights, safety and security of days2go, our users or the public.

5. Google API Limited Use

days2go's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Google user data is used only to provide and improve the user-facing features of days2go described in this policy, and for necessary security, reliability, fraud-prevention and legal-compliance purposes.

days2go does not use Google Calendar or Google Tasks data to develop, improve, train, or fine-tune generalized or non-personalized artificial intelligence or machine-learning models.

6. What We Do Not Collect / Do Not Do

  • We do not sell your personal information.
  • We do not use Google user data for advertising or personalised advertising.
  • We do not engage in data brokerage or provide Google user data to resellers.
  • We do not collect Google data beyond the read-only scopes described in Section 3.
  • We never receive or store your Google password.
  • We do not modify or delete your Google Calendar events.
  • We do not modify or delete your Google Tasks.

7. Security

We apply reasonable technical and organisational measures designed to protect your information, including:

  • Encryption of data in transit using HTTPS/TLS for all network communication.
  • Secure storage of OAuth credentials and access tokens where applicable.
  • Access controls and least-privilege principles limiting who and what can access data.
  • Ongoing, reasonable safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the data.

No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we work continually to protect your information.

8. Data Retention and Deletion

  • Google Calendar and Tasks data is accessed to power live features and is retained only as reasonably necessary to provide those features.
  • OAuth tokens are retained for as long as necessary to maintain your authorized Google integration, and are removed when that authorization ends.
  • When you disconnect Google Calendar or the optional Google Tasks integration, days2go stops accessing the corresponding data and removes the associated tokens.
  • If you revoke days2go's access from your Google Account, our access ends and associated tokens are invalidated.
  • You can request deletion of your account and associated server-side data at any time by emailing us at hello@days2go.app.
  • Countdowns stored locally on your device can be deleted by you at any time directly within the app or by removing the app.

Where a specific retention period is not otherwise defined, we retain data only for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the service or until you request deletion, subject to legitimate legal, security and fraud-prevention requirements.

9. Your Choices and Rights

  • You can revoke days2go's access to your Google data at any time from your Google Account permissions.
  • You can disconnect or disable the Google Calendar and optional Google Tasks integrations from within days2go where supported.
  • You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your account and associated data.
  • You can contact us with any privacy request at hello@days2go.app.

10. Analytics & Cookies

This website uses Google Analytics (gtag.js) to understand aggregate usage — such as page views, referrers and general traffic patterns — so we can improve the site. Google Analytics may set cookies and process usage data in accordance with Google's Privacy Policy.

Website analytics applies to the days2go.app website only. It is entirely separate from, and does not use, the Google Calendar or Google Tasks data accessed by the days2go app. You can opt out of Google Analytics using Google's official browser opt-out add-on, or by blocking cookies in your browser settings.

11. Children

days2go is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will post the revised version at this URL and update the "last updated" date above. Your continued use of days2go after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

13. Contact Us

If you have any questions about this Privacy Policy or how we handle your data, please email us at hello@days2go.app.
